Operation Sharing Tennessee (OS-TN), operating under an agreement with Appalachian Life Quality Initiative (ALQI) of Oneida, TN, and Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) of Hagerhill, KY, opened in a warehouse on Verdun Road provided by the Scott County Chamber of Commerce. The ribbon cutting was on October 17, 2008, and the first distribution date was October 23, 2008. As of June, 2009, 163 organizations have become "members" receiving free goods for their organizations.
To qualify as a member of OS-TN you must be located in the Appalachian Mountains and have a 501 (c) (3), be tax exempt, or if a church, have the pastor's ordination papers. For membership information, contact Tina Bilbrey, 200 Jellico Street, Oneida, TN 37841, 423-286-3300.
Products are distributed Monday through Thursday, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. A variety of products are displayed for selection by members on Tuesdays through Thursdays with appointments scheduled every 20 minutes. Building supplies and furniture items are distributed on Wednesdays with appointments scheduled every 30 minutes. Hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. OS-TN is closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
